Was there last weekend. It cost $60 for my family and I to go out there. What a rip off.  Angry

They are having their first heads up index race of the year. Im racing there this sat. Heads up racing is worth the $60 you paid to watch test & tune last sat.  Gates open at 4pm  Grin

It depends on the heads up racing I suppose but I'm not going back out there to find out. Its been a long time since Ive seen anything at Little River worth $15 a head.

You should go to Prairie Hill to watch.  $8 a head

The couple of posts above are telling.  $15 a head is pretty cost prohibitive when it comes to getting families out there to watch. I guess what I have never understood is, it costs the same amount of money to open the gates and operate whether you have 50 people out there or you have 500.  Obviously you want to have as many bodies in that place as you can get, because it effects your bottom line exponentially down the road.  So how do you get more people in the gate?  In this economy, I don't believe you do it by charging more.  When there are multiple entertainment options for the average family on any given weekend, you have to make yourself standout...not just be another venue for them to lay down $50 or $60.

I know from experience that business owners get in this mindset that if they charge more, they will make more.  In a business like this, in this particular market, that is absolutely not true.  I would lay money down that if you do it right, especially if you market it right, you would actually make more money charging $8 or less at the gate.  I know it may sound crazy, but if you really want to blow the place up, let the people in for free.  If done carefully, and using some good planning, you'd stand to make more than you ever would charging at the gate.
