Here is a direct copy paste from the Lubbock dragstrip site.

Dennis Notes: 11/08/09

Racers, Thanks to the help of  Roy Breshers  & Jeff Brown & Lee Polk  for coming out. WE have torn down the guard Rails on both on sides & have all the posts out now  We have all the sides cut down & graded. Now is the time to plan for the install later next year. I will have the engineer do the final ck to make sure all is ready. picture to follow as I forgot my camera.  Juvey & Zach Pena showed up to helps also but we had most of the stuff done they will be helping the updates later.

I have a contractor ( Alan Butler ) & an engineering company ( Bobby Beale) that know what we have to have for your safety & fun, we are planning a January start date so we will see what happens.

If anybody wants to help with new sponsors for the 2010 I sure do need some,  so I can get done some other needed work in the pits & burnout area's ( pits $40,000 to $50,000 to overlay & burnout box $10,000 to $15,000)    shut down area is about another $100,000   Please call me for info

Thanks Dennis

I know it says they were able to secure an SBA loan, which seems like very good news, but that may have been old news.

The last update I saw on there was this:

    Dennis Notes: 2/2/10

This weekend I will be at the track to finish digging up the starting line wires to the tower to replace them & to lay the conduit for the tree & dial in boards & electrical outlets.

Sometime soon when they start to do the asphalt paving I will need all the help to get all the guard rails up in 1 weekend. I have been in touch with Compulink about redoing the whole track like new from the starting line to the finish line to set all infrareds & all that need to be done to be perfect again.

I have been contacted by Joe Garrett & Layton they want to help get the posts to the track they have a tractor with forks to help load. I will try to set a date in the 3rd weekend of Feb. Caprock Waste will bring a drop off to fill then take it to the track for us to unload until we get them all done.

Dennis is progressing.  If all goes well, we hope to be racing here this year.

I have heard that the engineer has the plans ready this week & was in contatc with the construction company & Brockmeyer & Wayne fron NHRA for the finals. Also I have heard that when the surface is done that Compulink will be setting up the whole track again & checking it out from start to finish. I know that borrowing money is harder now then before thru the SBA. I have a funny feeling things will work out this time around.

With a Quick-Reply you can use bulletin board code and smileys as you would in a normal post, but much more conveniently.
